The thought of death is something we don’t want to entertain. “God forbid” you may here loudly as the word “death” comes to the lips. Every day, men and women of beauty and wealth are passing away to eternity. Some to life everlasting, others to everlasting punishment. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment,” Hebrews 9:27. We will all pass away from this earth. For our time here is but for a short while. “Prepare to meet your God.” Amos 4:12.
Death, like birth, is a one-time event in a man’s life. It is appointed unto men to be born, and it is appointed unto men to die. Once you are born, death remains the sure deal you have with your Maker.
Physical death is not the end of life. After we die in this world, we are either with God in heaven or in hell with the devil and his angels. Mathew 25:46.
The question is, which of these places are you preparing to spend eternity? Eternity is life unending. When we leave here, our souls will live on, either with God or in a devil’s hell.
Please note that it is not about whether you belong to a church, or a religion. The question of your salvation is much more important than where you worship or what name you are under. Your account has to be settled before you appear before Him. A mere religion or profession will not stand the test.
“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death,” Revelation 21:8(NIV).
You certainly do not want to find yourself in hell, then why do you continue to live a life that leads to hell? Consider your ways and repent.
Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. It is holy and a sure reward for the faithful. In fact, the Bible says, “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life,” Revelation 21:27(NIV).
How can we make it to heaven? The answer is straight and simple. Think upon your life and take an immediate step to be free from your sins. Jesus Christ offers you a life that leads to heaven through the shedding of his blood on the cross of cavalry. You must be born again to see His kingdom(John 3:3,5). You must believe that He came from heaven to die so that you might be forgiven. You must repent from your sins and confess to Him for the cleansing of your soul. You must accept his message of life contained in the holy scriptures. Your name will be written in His book of life and as long as you walk in the light that He reveals to you daily, heaven will be your home at last.
The time to make that decision is now. tomorrow may actually be too late. How many persons have put off their salvation to a later date, only to seek it when life had suddenly departed from them? Don’t make the same foolish mistake. “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is nigh,” Isaiah 55:6.
“Come NOW and let us reason together saith the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land,” Isaiah 1:18-19. As you take this bold step to life, may the Lord strengthen your heart to forsake the way that leads to destruction.
